Social Apps – The New Microsites

They also provide more than a widget with two-way communication and ability to gather information about your users you may not get from a widget.
Here are a few examples of applications that have done well in the market.
FedEx used the Launch of Package app on Facebook where friends can deliver gifts to friends in a FedEx bos. They reached over 72,000 packages delivered each day.
New Balance Run-Dezvous app on Facebook had an embedded game and also online dollars you could win. With 250,00 active users, 86% returned at least once, 57% came back 9 times and over $1M in virtual dollars earned.
Visa launched a social app, Visa Business Network, on Facebook to help connect small businesses and provide resources to help them grow their business. Visa has over 26,000 monthly active users.
